I went to big picture mode and enabled XBOX1 and generic gamepad. I turned off the game and then back on, and nothing. I had it set up where the XBOX 1 controller had the same layout as the 360, except ducking requires 1 press, and clicking on the left analog has the survivor point out whats in front. I opened L4D2 and I forgot my fightstick was connected to my PC, and I also forgot to turn on my controller(XBOX1). Hopefully someone could help me with a problem I just got yesterday.

Oh, just rememberd another thing, some special commands you will have to map to your keyboard, such as Chat/Team Chat, Switch Teams, Spray logo, Vote Yes/No etc. if you go to: Options>Keyboard/Mouse>Edit Keys/Buttons from the main menu, you can map your buttons there. In that case, you may have to map your controller manually. I assume that since you use a 'generic' controller, that it's not an Xbox controller.
